Due to unprecedented rainfall and severe flooding in Thailand, essential manufacturing facilities for computer components have been temporarily shut down. These plant closures have impacted many industries, however with twenty-five percent of the worldwide hard drive production produced in Thailand, these plant closures have and will disrupt the global supply for hard drives. The immediate impact has been higher prices with additional price increases with future realized product shortages and constrained inventories. As manufacturing facilities worldwide ramp up to cover production shortages and as facilities in Thailand are brought back online, product availability and potentially longer lead-times will continue for an undetermined period of time.
At this time, Axiom along with our strategic partners for hard drives, solid-state hard drives, and flash components are working to minimize any delays in order fulfillment. We also anticipate fluctuating pricing due to constrained product supply.
